COURSE OBJECTIVE
The key objectives of this training are to develop confidence and assertiveness in the role of an MC. Trainees will be well equipped with the knowledge and understanding of the duties and expectations of an emcee. After attending this course, trainees can be assured that they’ll be able to better understand the protocol and social etiquette of a Master of Ceremonies.

Session 1-Introduction of the Master of Ceremonies
o   What is the Master of Ceremonies?
o   Background understanding of trainees’ experience and skills
o   Presenting yourself as an MC
o   Individual assignment
Session 2-The Role of the Master of Ceremonies
o   Welcome speech
o   Introduce speakers
o   Explain programmes
o   Understand stage management
o   Act like a genial host
o   Familiar with the protocol and the occasion
Session 3-Duties of the Master of Ceremonies
o   How to manage event
o   Make sure the audience/guests comfortable and enjoy themselves
o   Learn pronunciation & enunciation of words
o   Preparing before the event: write the script, present it
o   Social Etiquette & Protocol
o   Techniques for remembering names & objects
Session 4-The Art of Toasting
o   Different Types of Toasts
o   Practice the Toasts
o   Learn the fine art of Toasting
o   When to propose a Toast
o   Response to a Toast
o   Memorise the scripts of Toast
Session 5-Presentation Skills
o   Body language & Vocal Variety
o   Introducing Guests
o   How to Use and hold Microphones, Lecterns
o   Learn about the different types of Microphones
o   Platform Manners
Session 6-Presentation and Perception
o   Understand the stage presence
o   Understand stage management
o   Body Language
o   Fight the terror of stage fear
o   Words to Use for Award Presentations
o   Using Humour to Stimulate the Audience

o   What NOT to do and Say
Session 7-House Rules
o   Representation of the club
o   Set down some rules of the house
o   Emergency exits and the restrooms
o   Where to serve food
o   They can and can't order
Session 8-Opening the Ceremony
o   Emcee’s double duty
o   Bantering with audience, telling a few jokes
o   Not to win the crowd or have a killer set
Session 9-Transition and Timing
o   Timekeeping is rigorously applied.
o   Keep track of time
o   Flash a light on the performer to get off stage
o   Keep the level of the crowd up and excited
Session 10-Ending the Show
o   Emcee thanks the audience
o   Remind them of any upcoming gigs
Session 11-Primary Responsibility
o   Introduce performers or speakers
o   Announce items on the agenda
o   Recognize sponsors
o   Ensure a smooth transition
o   Keep the event moving
o   Give a brief description of the next item
METHODOLOGY
This program offers real practices of the actual work of trainers as well as common use both local and international standards, learning through sharing experiences from the trainer and participants' vision, real exercise, group discussion, case study, games, role-play, individual/ group presentation to get more understanding and clear for all participants.

TRAINER'S PROFILE
Mr. Sophatra SOM,  Admin & HR Expert , he attended many professional courses both local & International training: Effective HR Management, HR Development, Training of Trainer-ToT, Project Cycle Management, Report Writing Skill, Effective. Administrative Management, Effective Leadership, General Communication Skill, Interpersonal Skill, Incentive NGO Management, Procurement and Bidding Procedure, Policy and Minimum Standards for Protection of Rights of Victim of Human Trafficking.

Experiences: He has
45-year experiences in fields of Administration, Human Resources Management, Procurement, Logistics, Contract Management and Communication both local and international COMPANIES/NGOs/IOs. Administration & HR Director, Project Coordinator (BBC World Service Trust), Project Manager (UNIAP), General Secretary (KHRACO), Information Officer (REDD BARNA), Office Manager (SFKC), Office Manager/ Translator (ADB), Information and Education Officer (UNTAC), Deputy Director of External Relations Department (Radio/ TVK).

Present: Director, Administration HR & Communication (SREDO) & A Senior Adviser to World Hope.
